What’s “The College Burnout”?

Finesse Your Education’s “The College Burnout” is a scholarship that’s open to first-generation minority college students.*

As a first-gen college student, music was one of my biggest motivators. Even on my worst days, playing my favorite songs as I walked across campus really gave me the push I needed to keep going.

To apply to this scholarship, you’ll be creating your own playlist that captures your college experience so far.

The scholarship is loosely based on “The College Dropout” by Kanye West. The goal, however, is to have y’all finish off undergrad strong so I had to switch up the title a lil’ bit.

*First-generation college students are students whose parents have not obtained a bachelor’s degree in the US; See bottom of page for full eligibility requirements + rules to enter.

Wait, What’s Burnout?

Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands.

Burnout is almost inevitable for college students to face at some point in time, but it can hit even deeper for first-generation students that lack strong support systems.

With this scholarship launch, I’ll be raising awareness of how students can overcome burnout across my socials!
